BioCancell Therapeutics – Dedicated to a safer, more effective treatment of cancer

BioCancell Therapeutics Inc. is a biotechnology company specializing in the development of Patient-Oriented, Targeted Therapy for the treatment of a wide range of cancers. Its therapeutic and diagnostic technology constitutes a novel ‘search and destroy’ paradigm for the targeted destruction of cancer cells – with no effect on surrounding tissue and no observed side effects – for long-term, safe treatment and prevention of cancer.

Founded on ground-breaking technology
The company was founded in 2004, based on ground-breaking technology involving the H19 gene. This technology was developed by Professor Avraham Hochberg and licensed from Yissum - the R&D Company of the Hebrew University. Registered in the State of Delaware and traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, all of BioCancell Therapeutics’ R&D activities are conducted at its wholly-owned Israeli subsidiary, BioCancell Therapeutics Ltd.

Tested on human subjects with promising results
BioCancell's highly-targeted cancer therapy technology has been successfully tested on compassionate use patients in the treatment of superficial bladder cancer and ovarian cancer, as well as in Phase I/IIa clinical studies in the treatment of bladder cancer. The technology has also shown excellent potential for treatment of other fatal cancers such as pancreas and liver, as well as high-incidence cancers including lung and colon.

In addition to its therapeutic potential, the H19 technology may also be used as a diagnostic tool for the detection of cancer.
