BioCancell Therapeutics follows a strategy of protecting its intellectual property by applying for patent protection in major markets worldwide. BioCancell's patent portfolio includes more than 45 patent applications in 10 families. BioCancell has had patents granted in the United States, the European Union, Israel, China, South Korea, Russia, Singapore, Mexico, Japan, Canada, Brazil and the Czech Republic.

All of BioCancell's products under development are included, with patent protection covering the use of H19 and IGF-II genes as tumor markers, methods for inducing tumor-specific cytotoxicity, methods for detection of metastasis, and H19 siRNA for treatment of cancer.
